Kapiti Live Music Evening featuring Tandrom Gypsy Trio
at The Dog & Duck Jazz Bar, 111 State Highway 1, Kapiti Coast
The DOG & DUCK at Lindale Centre host our monthly feature:
The gig of NZ on a Wednesday night!
Blackboard concert followed by guest act, lots of variety from month to month. All genre of live music supported.
This months guest: Tandrom Gypsy Trio
Folk / Jazz / Tango
Tandrom Trio is a hot line-up of three local muzos –Fiona Smythe (violin), Simon Burgess (guitar, vocals), and Richard Prowse (double bass). Colourful and fun, Tandrom Trio performs contemporary arrangements of traditional gypsy jazz and European pieces, with a few eclectic surprises thrown into the mix as well.
The Tandrom Trio musicians have backgrounds in jazz, composition, classical and folk, and have travelled and performed all over the world in other musical combinations. They bring a fresh, lively interpretation to European music traditions - hot rhythmic grooves, jazz swing, gypsy passion, Eastern European melodies – it’s music that travels the listener from Romanian villages to Parisian cafés. Dynamic and passionate, this group will have every part of you dancing with abandon!
Kapati Live Music Evening
3rd Wednesday of each month
When you're ready to perform,
do a song or two with a receptive audience and great sound set-up
at a club evening black-board session.
$5 entry
