WGTN APRIL 3rd: http://goo.gl/jli00y
This round of Red Bull Sound Select we’re more hyped than Rick James was to hit Charlie Murphy, as we welcome Mzwétwo to the roster. He’s been hiding away for the last wee while working like a dirty dog on songs, big production and most importantly, raps to wow blogger and music fans alike.
He’ll be joining the brilliant company of HIGH HØØPS who’s recent ‘dreambop’ releases’ Heatwave & Magic Rain have earned him more internet kudos than your grandma learning to text and after playing slots at Laneway & Splore festivals, plus sets alongside Slow Magic & Kaytranada the kid’s got the gift. Your body will be dancing before your brain even realizes.
Taste Nasa is one of the most exciting fresh sounding artists on our roster, bringing a fruity edge that only he knows how. On first listen you might think you’re listening to a five-piece band lost in time somewhere between the 80’s and today but in fact that’s just the invocation and glamor of the one and only Big Taste, baby. Nasa-style will change your lifestyle. Bless.
What was that? You love hip-hop and one rap artist isn’t enough? Oh. Well that’s okay, good thing we’ve got the most Wauvé dude in the game in our clique. SPYCC is the artist that all the rappers ask no questions about. He has the tunes to back up the rep and an undeniable connection to the music that will make audience in bow in awe while throwing their hands in the sky at the same damn time. Word.
Headlining our family of friends show are two of the nicest mounties you’ll meet, PleasePlease. You know the song that put them on the radar; if you don’t, clearly you don’t have Internet because it played before every YouTube video ever and was a summer pop-radio smash. But seriously, they’ve got a sack full of club slanging records to top off the evening in true DPTRCLB fashion. Party up.
RSVP for FREE ENTRY to either Auckland or Wellington and keep your eyes pealed to the page to win exclusive fan prize packs (but only if you’re a mega fan of the artists, like we are).
