Nick Hook, Maxx Mortimer and Marek

at Bettys, 32 Blair Street, Central Wellington
This week we bring one of the most exciting acts we’ve ever had at The Nark, with the one and only NICK HOOK in the city for an exclusive show. Signed to Fool’s Gold, and recently collaborating with the likes of Azealia Banks, Doc Daneeka and El-P, this New York based DJ/producer is also part of Cubic Zirconia, and constantly in demand for his skills in the studio. Famed for his eclectic DJ sets, which take in a number of genres yet stay firmly focused on party vibes, NICK HOOK has been developing his sound for over ten years, travelling from Tokyo to the East Village and smashing dance floors everywhere in between. Expect this incredibly talented musician to lay down a set to remember, and don’t forget as always, The Nark is free entry, leaving you more funds for your drinking budget. This should be one of the best Nark events we’ve staged so far, so come down and party this Wednesday night, this is gonna be crazy!

Transplanted from St. Louis to NYC’s East Village, NICK HOOK began turning tables, starting bands and collecting synthesizers at a young age. His universal brand of dirty, analogue dance music has travelled around the world from New York to Tokyo for more than 10 years. With multiple releases under his belt as founding member of Cubic Zirconia, Hook’s eccentric roster of collaborative productions with the likes of EL-P, L-Vis and Azealia Banks reflects an undying affinity for all types of electronic music.

Maxx Mortimer is an artist whose credentials run deep, having spent over 12 years honing his craft and paying his dues.
He is one of the rare producers who can match his production skills with his abilities on the decks.

Balancing his time between promotion, collecting toys, and showcasing his DJ skills, Marek is Wellington's ultimate party rocker. Blending genres and always guaranteed to bring the heat. Whenever he plays at The Nark, it always a little bit special, and we're looking forward to hearing him lay down some tunes this Wednesday.
