Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band Community Halls Dance Tour
at Savage Club - WMC, 65 Drews Avenue, Whanganui
Wellington's Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band are on tour this November and are bringing their self styled show to Wanganui for one night only at the Savages Club - in cahoots with The Wanganui Musicians Club.
If you saw them at The Rivercity Caboodle in January, you know it's gonna be a good time so get your glad rags on for an evening of raucous mayhem as the Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band pound the dance floor with their infectious foot-stompin boogie!
Inspired by the notorious Story-ville and the music of early 1900s New Orleans, the Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band have carved out a reputation for bringing the party whenever they play (and being impeccably dressed while doing it).
Having started out paying dues to the legendary musicians of this time period, including Louis Armstrong and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band have gone on to develop their own take on this infectious music that melts hearts and shakes booties - expect horn breaks, spirited sing-alongs, second line street beats and ragged time piano, but come prepared to get your groove on as the Roseneath Centennial Ragtime Band thump out originals and traditional tunes that are guaranteed to get you out of your chair and up on your feet - this ain't no sit down show - bring your best dancing shoes as we come to get down!
