KFM Radio picks
KFM 106.9 is a low power FM station based on Karangahape Road in Newton. What started as a half-baked idea in 2003 has blossomed into one of K Rd's cultural epicenters. The original studio was upstairs, St. Kevins Arcade, but in 2005 the crew moved across the street to #208 - a much larger space, which has since evolved into a tea shop, the Te Karanga Art Gallery, a tattoo parlor, a screening room, and a community meeting space.
