at Alleluya Cafe, St. Kevins Arcade, 183 Karangahape Road, Newton
The Pantograph Punch Presents: WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE
Young, successful and still here: Why
Join
Emily Miller-Sharma (designer, Liam)
Leon Radojkovic (composer, Carnival of Souls; BREL)
Anthonie Tonnon (songwriter, Tono and the Finance Company)
and Rebecca Kamm (editor, NO magazine)
in a discussion of what it means to work creatively in New Zealand – the benefits of staying, leaving, or teetering somewhere in between.
Bookending the discussion will be performances by Tiny Ruins and Dear Time's Waste, with poetry by Hera Lindsay Bird.
About Dear Time's Waste: Auckland-based indie pop-folk act fronted by Claire Duncan. Includes various collaborators.
About Tiny Ruins: The solo project of Wellington-based songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hollie Fullbrook, who started out writing songs in a dilapidated shack, using guitar, cello and an old piano.
"There is a unique atmosphere in Tiny Ruins’ songs, and her vocals sound so timeless. It's not music that screams HEY, LISTEN!!!, — it's more quiet songs for rooms with dim lighting, late evenings, maybe with a good book as company." —Knut, Eardrums Music
