Presented by Fleet FM, the Cross Street Studios, Craftwerk, Mukuna, and a whole lotta good people in the neighbourhood.A celebration of inner-city living, public spaces, the Chinese new year, and summer.
From the promoters: "We are closing off Cross Street to put on a day of bands and family activities. And we'll have over 30 stalls of goodness. If you've been having recurring dreams of candy floss, lucky dips, pantomimes and drums, then you're in luck! Yussss!"
The street party ends at 7pm, but carnival continues through the night with more live music and entertainment at Elmo Karaoke Bar and Cross St. Studios HQ.

About Craftwerk: A marketplace event with stalls and live bands. Started in Wellington by Heather Barnes. Has since grown to Christchurch and Auckland (August 2006). Buy, sell, trade quirky, cynical, alternative handmade goods--anything from perspex brooches, baby accessories, zines and comics, to hand-stitched toys, screen printed crockery, stationary, stickers, dildo covers. Recently featured on 3 News.
Bands that have performed: The Gladeyes, Dictaphone Blues, LadyBird, The Nudie Suits, Dudley Benson, Storehouse, more.
Recommended regular stalls: Toggle, JellyBones, Nut + Bee, Geek Freaks, Birdspoke, ByeByeBangBang.
Applications close February 8th. Tables available on the day, as per. Stalls spread out all the way down the street, so get creative with your space. Think big.
