About Upraw: Auckland-based heavy metal four-piece, emphasis on the heavy. From their website: "We do not hold claim to any one single sub-genre of the metal category, but instead are influenced by everything, especially the bands of the 80's thrash metal peak, including the Big Four of Thrash."

About Kasium: Auckland-based hard rock two-piece formed in 2008. From their MySpace: "Picture something between Alice in Chains and Korn and you are on the right track. We're the real deal. Real band, real lyrics, no auto-tune, no BS."

About Damage Tones: An Auckland-based five-piece, formerly known as The Bollocks. Formed in early 2007. They describe their sound as "a dark mix of blues and grunge."
